When we turned the calendar to October, I told Hannah that the 31st is Grammy's birthday. She said, "We should have a party!" That sounded like a good idea to me so today we had a birthday luncheon/tea for Josh's mom. It was fun to get out the good china, and we enjoyed the last of the zinnias for our flowers. Hannah wanted heart-shaped sandwiches, but my attempt to make heart-shaped rolls sort of floundered because I forgot they would rise and thus most of them looked odd. They tasted good though, and were filled with egg salad. We also had molded peach salad and a chocolate toffee trifle. We had sparkling juice to drink, but the kids had to use sippy cups because I don't quite trust them with the crystal champagne flutes just yet!Friday, October 31, 2008
