News That's Fit To Print

Hannah likes to look at the alphabet and hear the alphabet song. Recently she has gotten pretty good at identifying some of the letters, and it's fun to see her begin to realize that there are letters and words everywhere. This morning, for example, she wanted to point out all the "O"s and "P"s and other letters on my t-shirt.

This afternoon, Hannah brought me her paper and colored pencils and said, "Letters! Help!" so I held her hand on the pencil and we made some "A"s. I helped her with both the left and right hands so she wouldn't think she has to choose one prematurely. Then she asked for some "B"s and one "H" and one "K." After that, she tried to make them herself, and she would make some lines, then look at me and ask, "Zat close?" (translation: "Is that close?") I assured her that her efforts were indeed "close." And some of them actually were. Anyway, it was really fun and I'm happy that she enjoys letters as much as I do.

In Other News:
Jack had his 4 month check-up yesterday and he now weighs 18.2 pounds! He is somewhere between 26 and 27 inches long, they couldn't get him to stop wiggling enough for a really accurate measure. I have a Babies R Us coupon, so I should probably go get him a bigger carseat pretty soon.

You are very smart to write the letters with both hands. Hannah is so smart, and so funny. Loved the story above about singing.

Did you know Jack now weighs more than Morgan did at 1 year old?!?! He's such a cutie, and a big baby. But you know, he's not "fat" big...if that makes any sense. Just so different from our girls for sure.

Morgan has just started really talking a lot and has about 15 true words. I was listening to her tonight and really getting excited about being able to understand what she is talking about!
